Laser hair removal is the most effective method of hair removal available, reducing hair growth by up to 90%, leaving you with smoother skin.

Suitable for men and women and all skin tones, almost anywhere on the entire body can be treated, including sensitive areas such as the face and bikini line.

Unlike other methods such as waxing, depilatory creams and shaving, laser hair removal gives long lasting results, without the ingrown hairs and irritation associated. The hair will also become finer and softer so it’s less visible, and growth will slow down more with each treatment.

How does the LightSheer™ system remove hair?

The laser targets the pigment located in the hair follicle and shaft. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and this energy is converted to heat which results in damage to the hair follicle. This damage causes delayed re-growth of hair and in most cases, permanent destruction of the hair follicles. Unlike electrolysis, which disables one hair follicle at a time, the laser reaches and treats hundreds of follicles at a time.

Will the hair be removed permanently?

Laser hair removal is not an instant fix and you will need a minimum of six sessions although it’s not uncommon to need up to eight or more, depending on the individual. The duration of each session is dependent on the area being treated, you will be advised of this during your consultation. Sessions are ideally 4-6 weeks apart and booked as a course of six.

The hair growth cycle has three stages, growing, resting and transitional. Only follicles in the growth phase contain hair and are destroyed by the heat. Resting hair follicles need to enter the growth phase before they can be effectively destroyed by the laser. That’s why it is necessary to repeat the treatment at intervals until all hair follicles have been through the growth phase.

Whilst some people notice results after a few sessions it is imperative that you complete the course in order for optimum results. To ensure the best results we recommend a 4-8 week gap between each treatment.

What can I expect after the treatment?

There is very little if any recovery time, though you may have some redness and experience a mild sunburn sensation following a treatment, this may last between one and eight hours. For 24 hours after your treatment you should avoid heat treatments, saunas and direct sun exposure, we recommend using sun block on exposed areas. You should allow around 14-20 days for the hairs to fall out following your treatments, you can aid this process by exfoliating.

While hair will start to shed in the treated area it will continue to grow as you progress through your course, though this will noticeably reduce the more treatments you have. It is safe to shave as normal whilst you’re having treatment but no waxing.
